BYOT Pitfalls and How to Avoid Them

In a February 5, 2012 post, Australian Educational Technologist Mal Lee wrote,

“The trend line is very much suggesting that in time every school in the developed world will use some form of ‘bring your own technology’ (BYOT) school resourcing.

It is not a question of if but when your school will make the move.

The BYOT ‘tsunami’ is rapidly coming over the horizon.”

Regardless if you’re a proponent or an opponent of BYOT, there is no denying that students are already using their own mobile devices to further their education. It may not have yet occurred in your classroom, but it will.

Because the BYOT movement among schools is growing exponentially, #BYOTchat will focus on the pitfalls that a school may encounter in implementing a BYOT program and ways that schools may act to avoid them.  Join us at 9pm (EST) on Thursday, March 15th for a discussion of “BYOT Pitfalls and How to Avoid Them”
